Boiled Woolen Sweater, Ashblossom

This is the original dress style from our successful Kickstarter launch years ago. It's in regular rotation in the shop—a customer favorite.

This season's offering: We sourced Made in the USA 20 oz. cotton blend has some recycled poly to help keep shrinking to a minimum. Do you remember that favorite college sweatshirt you had back in the day? This is that same classic, thick, structured material, brushed on the inside. Snuggly warm, drapes away from the body. 

Longer than average sleeves are designed to be rolled to show the soft, brushed side of the fabric. Dress isn't meant to be tight/snug. If more fitted is your thing, you might want to order a size down or choose a different dress entirely. Think "sweatshirt" for this one. You wouldn't expect a sweatshirt to cling.

Machine wash cold, and air dry or tumble dry on low. Avoid higher temps when washing and drying.

Are you a fan of wool? Fabric made in Italy, thick and plush, these hats emerge from the scraps our Boiled Woolen Sweater that are too precious to waste. We only sew as many as the scraps make possible. They have chunky, thick, richly sculpted tactile details. 

Did we say "wool" enough? To avoid any misunderstanding, if you have ever had allergies/sensory issues with wearing wool, these hats aren't for you. Wool is both on the outside of the hat and against your head.

This hat is an average adult head size, with stretch to go over most heads without feeling too tight. We designed a looser fit for less hairdo smush, but will still cling and stay on.

This all purpose size seems to fit the bill on all but the smallest adult heads. If you know yours runs small, feel free to reach out, we can help!

Hand wash COLD and dry flat if needed. Do not put in the dryer.

Made from cotton lawn with a charming retro print called "Cigar Box", tans and browns share similar color stories with tobaccos and wood tones. The scale of the print gives it a feed-sacks-and-sepia-tones early 20th century vibe. 

Elastic gathered neckline. Freely drapes over the torso with a loose blousy fit. Elastic cuff sits past the elbow. Moderate length can be tucked in.

Fit notes: Order true to size. 

Best Care:
Machine wash cold with like colors. For a wonderfully rumpled appearance, tumble dry on low heat with fabric softener and remove immediately after tumbling. For a crisp appearance, air dry and then iron or steam on cotton setting. Avoid hIgher temperatures that will excessively shrink natural fibers.

"Loose" cuff hangs freely away from the arm, "Gathered" has elastic along the arm opening, it gently hugs the arm for additional poufy detail.

Elastic gathered neckline. Freely drapes over the torso with a loose airy fit. Moderate length can be tucked in. It was originally designed to be worn like a scoop neck but in case you are wondering, yes, it can be pulled down for an off-the-shoulder look.

Best Care:
Hand or machine wash cold with like colors. Air dry, or you can tumble dry a nearly top carefully on lowest heat to help shake out wrinkles (remove immediately after tumbling). Avoid hIgher temperatures that will excessively shrink natural fibers.
Iron on cotton setting.

Calico and Flora are cotton/viscose blend, others are 100% Cotton. Color gray is certified organic cotton.

"Cornflower":  Also known as Bachelor's Buttons, this floral body is paired with a textured sleeve that has tiny fluffy tufts of threads helping to make up the surface pattern. Like the Crayola crayon with the same name, ample amounts of bright cheery blues with pops of white.

95/5 Cotton/Spandex shell, 100% Cotton sleeves. 
Machine wash cold, air dry. Do not put in dryer. Warm iron if needed.

About every signature tee:

National Picnic Signature Tees thrive on creative pairings of new fabrics each season, but it's the fit that is just as special. Not a generic tee shirt fit—they have been thoughtfully designed to consider women's figures, pleasing a diverse range of body shapes and sizes.

It's designed to drape loosely over the torso when worn true to size, and not get stuck on the hips. Not meant to fit snugly; however, some women order a size down to show more curves through the bust area. Even then, it will still remain somewhat loose-fitting. Woven sleeves can only size down so much (they don't stretch)—so if tight is how you roll, this is not the tee for you.
