These leggings were first created simply for pairing with tops in National Picnic photo shoots, and surprise, customers asked for them.

Leggings are everywhere. But these are NOT polyester or nylon like the athletic ones. Sewn right here in the U.S., AND of U.S. milled fabric (which in the legging world, makes them pretty rare and special). So they'll stick around on the website for those who want them, made to order. Allow about a week to sew before shipping.

Thanks for asking about them and letting us know why you like them. The cuff at the ankle, nice touch. They seem to be just the right length. They hug your leg, but not skin tight. See the photos, they are worn pretty true to size. 

Most fans of these wear them for layering—under clothing that covers the butt. We've processed a lot of feedback on these! If you prefer the type of leggings advertised as shapewear, or standalone pants, these soft, comfort-instead-of-compression leggings are probably not for you. 

One customer does love them for yoga. National Picnic didn't think it made yogawear, but it makes perfect sense. So much stretch.

Rayon jersey with a generous amount of Spandex to keep the knees from getting saggy. Waistband sits higher, near belly button. Great for a layer of warmth under dresses, skirts and tunics—when you're not wearing them as pajamas.

CLEANING NOTES
Best care: Hand wash or machine wash delicate cycle, cold water. Smooth it out with hands, laying flat to air dry. Wrinkling falls out with body movement shortly after putting it on, but If you prefer ironing, It's OK to pass a steaming iron gently over surface if needed, garment turned inside out. 
Other acceptable care: Dry cleaning is also an option. 
Processes to avoid: Do not put in the dryer, or use warm or hot water, it will shrink your garment (mostly in length but also a little in width). Do not use bleach.

A luxurious wide leg pant in made of Tencel®. "Palazzo" is a classic style of pant that refers to a pant with a wide and straight leg. Roomy and splendid, perfect for being at ease. Dramatic, maximum swish.

The fabric has the appearance of a washed silk in that its surfaces have a similar patina.

Has elastic waistband for easy pull-on style. Hits around the belly button. Side hem pockets.

Your pants may be made to order. Allow appx. 2 weeks before your item ships.

Two lengths are offered:

Regular: As seen on model photo. a good choice for 5'6" women and under. It is intended to have an ankle-length look for the average gal, longer on petites.

Long: 3 inches longer than Regular. Choose this if you want to wear a longer length, want it to graze or cover heels, plan to hem it (by yourself by your local alterations specialist), or are a taller gal.

Waistband with elastic gathering. The drape will fall toward the body, and it swishes while you walk.

Compare this measurement to something in your closet with a 1.5" elastic waist for best size comparison. Different types/widths of elastic affect stretchability and fit, which is why some of the same sizes across different garments may have different measurements.

LImited edition! It's the same premium Ecovero® rayon we use for our basics but striped. Thought it would make an interesting new choice.

We sew them to order, allow about a week to sew before shipping. 

Rayon provides its silky sheen and feel. The top is the slim fitting long sleeve (see solid-colored choices here). Wear them together for a longjohns look. Layerable, easy pieces for extra warmth. 

Order a size down if you want a fit more like a bodysuit. You can see in the photos that it is not a tech fabric, no compression. The leggings are for comfort, they don't behave like shapewear. Waistband sits higher, near belly button. Another classic skirt shape with three stepped, gathered tiers with a moderately full A-line shape. Elastic waistband. This seersucker version does not have pockets. These seersucker cottons have a vintage look and are naturally puckered by design. Yarn-dyed plaid. 

100% cotton seersucker plaid.
Machine wash cold, air dry or tumble dry on low.

French poetry and birds and flowers on a windowpane grid (see close-up photo). Background is a cool black, pairs with black accessories, but it could pass for a very, very dark navy.

A 2-tier version of our popular 3-tiered skirt. This one has one less tier, making the hemline hit above the knee, showing extra leg. Appx. 18" in length. Note the model is petite, on average to taller women, expect a shorter look.

Moderate amount of gathering gives it an A-line shape. Side seam pockets. Elastic waistband.
